According to Microsoft there is a nasty bug affecting Windows 7 operating systems, lately. In fact, it may happen that a Windows 7 computer, configured to automatically log on when you turn the system on, might reset its taskbar settings for some unclear reasons. As stated in Microsoft Article ID: 979155, the issue “occurs because of a race condition between Windows Explorer and Taskhost.exe.” The hotfix “is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
