In other Windows operating systems such as Windows Server 2008 and Windows NT, if you want to access your account you have to press Ctrl+Alt+Del. This procedure is nothing else than a security reinforcement which protects user accounts from malicious programs and viruses which try to intercept a password while being typed in the proper field. Here is a simple tutorial and a hack on how to turn such a feature on in Windows 7 and Vista too.

1. Click Start.
2. In the Search field, type regedit and press Enter.
3. Locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software \Microsoft\Windows \CurrentVersion\Policies \System.
4. In the right pane, double click DisableCAD and set it to 0.
5. Click OK.
6. Restart the computer for the change to take effect.

Alternatively, in the Search box, type netplwiz and press Enter. Click the Advanced tab and under the Secure Logon section, tick the Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete box.
