In other Windows operating systems such as Windows Server 2008 and Windows NT, if you want to access your account you have to press Ctrl+Alt+Del. This procedure is nothing else than a security reinforcement which protects user accounts from malicious programs and viruses which try to intercept a password while being typed in the proper field. Here is a simple tutorial and a hack on how to turn such a feature on in Windows 7 and Vista too.
- Click Start.
- In the Search field, type regedit and press Enter.
- Locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software \Microsoft\Windows \CurrentVersion\Policies \System.
- In the right pane, double click DisableCAD and set it to 0.
- Click OK.
- Restart the computer for the change to take effect.
