If you work with a lot of files on your Windows 7 at a certain point you might wish to rename a bunch of them, say 50 or more, at once. Useless to say, this operation is quite tedious because it involves a lot of repetitive steps. However, if you are a real geek you know that in Windows 7 there is more than one way to perform a certain operation! This tutorial will teach you how to rename multiple files (and folders) at once by using few steps.
- Select the files you want to rename. To perform such operation, Press the CTRL button on your keyboard and with the left button of your mouse select the files you wish.
- Now, move the mouse pointer over the first file of your list.
- Now, press the F2 button on your keyboard.
- Rename and modify the name of such file.
- Press Enter.
- As soon as you press Enter, all the subsequent files will be renamed with the name you chose for the first file, followed by a number in parenthesis. Ex. The first file was renamed as TEST. The other files fill be renamed as TEXT(1), TEXT(2), TEXT(3) etc, all at once.
