If you have a lot of programs installed on your computer you might wish to stop some of them, block certain programs from running or simply from opening on your desktop. This tutorial will teach you how to stop and block programs from running on your Windows 7.
- Click Start.
- Inthe Search field,type regedit and press Enter.
- Locate the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ Explorer
- Right-click the left pane and from the menu select: New – DWord (32-bit) Value. Name it DisallowRun and give as value data 1 (you have to right click it to do this).
- Click OK.
- On the left pane (where all the registry-keys are), right click the Explorer key and from the menu select: New – Key . Name it DisallowRun. In this new key, right-click the right-pane and from the menu select New – String Value. Name it RestrictKey.
- Now, right-click Restrictkey and from the menu select Modify. A small dialog-box will appear. In its value data field, write the name of the program you want to block (ex: Nero.exe).
- Restart your commpuer for the changes to take effect.
