When you create a file such as document (.docx or .doc) or a picture (.jpeg or .jpg) Windows 7 stores private information and data about you in its property section. This information may include your name, when the document was created and modified, number of revisions, title, comments etc. If you are concerned about your privacy , here is how to delete this information and have a “clean” file.
- Right click a .docx file.
- Click Properties.
- Select the Details tab.
- At the end of the windows, click the Remove Properties and Personal Information link.
- Select and untick the information you want to purge from the file.
- Click OK.
