While opening (executing and installing) a file having .exe, zip, bat etc. extensions in Windows 7 and Vista, the system will return with the following security warning window “Do you want to run this file?”. If you wish to turn it off and disable it for good because you are one of those guys who like installing tons of applications on your computer, here is a quick hack for you!
- Open your Notepad.
- Copy and Paste this code in the notepad: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Download] “CheckExeSignatures”=”no” “RunInvalidSignatures”=dword:00000001 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Attachments] “SaveZoneInformation”=dword:00000001 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Associations] “LowRiskFileTypes”=”.zip;.rar;.nfo;.txt;.exe;.bat; .com;.cmd;.reg;.msi;.htm;.html;.gif;.bmp;.jpg;.avi ;.mpg;.mpeg;.mov;.mp3;.m3u;.wav;”
- Save it on your desktop as allowall.reg.
- Click it to merge its content your Windows registry content.
